The 'Empire' around us attempts to subvert the 'Kingdom living' that Jesus has called us to.  Every day we make countless decisions - decisions that are rooted in the principles of the Empire or those that are based on the principles of the Kingdom of God.  Decisions based on the principles of the Kingdom of God result in the abundant life that Jesus promises (John 10:10).  But, as you might be aware, this is more easily said than done - not because the Word of God is powerless but because as decision-makers we may not always make the right decision or choice.
 
So join us on Sundays at 9:30 PM as we look at God's Word that gives us the blue-print for effective decision-making, a blue-print that shows how the battle to make the right decision is always in the mind.  If we are able to 'renew our thinking, renew our mind' - we are able to make the right Kingdom-choices.  Then we will be able to test and know God's good, pleasing and perfect way for our lives.
 
The text for this series is Romans 12:1, 2.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.  (NIV)
 
We will look at the socio-economic/political culture during the time the Book of Romans was written.  We will look at the principles of love, the power of the Word and the role of the Holy Spirit as related to this topic.
